02 — Approach

Not a tourist tour.
A guide's day plan.

Most fishing options for visitors are €600–2,500 guided trips. That's not what most anglers want. We bring you the other side — the affordable lakes and rivers within an hour of Reykjavík, the Veiðikortið waters, where to access them, what to bring, what's working. Written like a working guide would brief a friend.

03 — Sample days

Days, shaped by season.

Half day

Char on Elliðavatn

Fifteen minutes from town. Veiðikortið covers it. A genuine arctic char lake at the edge of the city — better than most foreigners realise.

01

Full day

Sea-trout in autumn

Late August through September. The south coast sjóbirtingur waters fish best on low water and small flies. A serious day for a real angler.

02

A few hours

First fish in Iceland

Never fly-fished before? A small accessible lake, the right rod, a couple of hours, and you'll catch something. A proper way in.

04 — Origin

Built in Reykjavík.

Norðr is built by working Icelandic fly fishing guides. We started because the existing options for visiting anglers were either expensive guided trips or fragmented websites. We thought we could do better — a clear, honest, day-trip planner written the way a guide would actually brief you.

Fishing today.
More to come.

Norðr is starting with fishing because that's what we know. Hiking, photography, and aurora modules are next — same approach: built by people who actually do it, for the people who actually want it.
